Why most people miss out on grants

The Australian government (federal and state) has significant funding available for EV charger installation. But most people don't know about it, find it too complex to claim, or miss application deadlines.

That's where EVChargd comes in. We're grant experts. We know which programs apply to your situation, manage the entire application process, and make sure you get every dollar you're entitled to.

No extra cost. We find the grants as part of your quote.

And we're honest about it: some programs are business-only, and NSW currently has no rebate for individual homeowners installing a home charger at a freestanding house. If nothing applies to you, we'll say so — and show you the 0% interest, no-fee finance path instead.

Apartments and strata are different: several NSW councils — including the City of Sydney, Inner West and Parramatta — offer grants toward shared building charging. Amounts and eligibility change over time, so we check exactly what your building can currently claim rather than quoting a figure that may be out of date.

Up to ~$11,000/year in tax savings

Battery EVs on a novated lease are exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax, provided the car is under the luxury car tax threshold (~$91,387 for 2026–27). Plug-in hybrids no longer qualify for new leases from April 2025. Home charging equipment can often be packaged too — we'll walk through it.

NSW EV Destination Charging Grants

Co-funding for destination charging sites

Co-funds slower 'destination' chargers at places people visit or stay. Rounds open periodically — we confirm the current round and manage the application.

For Strata & Apartment Complexes

NSW EV Ready Buildings Program

Paused

Source: energy.nsw.gov.au

80% co-funding up to $80,000 per building

The main grant round was fully subscribed in late 2025. We register your building's interest through the current EV Site Host pathway and contact you the moment new co-funding opens — buildings that are ready first get funded first.

Sustainability Victoria funds shared EV charging in multi-dwelling buildings through periodic rounds. We check the current round status and register your building.
