This policy explains how EVChargd (ABN 43 152 377 989) handles the personal information you share with us. We follow the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website or asking us to quote or arrange an installation, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to help you. That usually includes:

  • Your name, phone number and email address.
  • Your vehicle make/model and delivery timing.
  • Your suburb and details about your property, parking and power supply, so we can scope the install.
  • Anything you write in an enquiry or message to us.
  • If a dealership referred you, the referring dealer and sales rep.
  • Basic technical and usage data from our website (via cookies), such as pages viewed — see the Cookies section below.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you — through our website forms, over the phone, or by email. We may also receive your details from an EV dealership or sales representative who has referred you to us, on the basis that you have asked them to.

Why we use it

  • To contact you — including calling you back quickly after an enquiry.
  • To prepare a quote and coordinate your charger installation with a licensed electrician.
  • To identify and, where you ask us to, apply for government grants or rebates on your behalf.
  • To manage your booking, paperwork and Certificate of Compliance.
  • To respond to support requests and keep you updated about your job.
  • To improve our website and services.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with parties that help us deliver the service you have asked for:

  • The licensed, insured electricians we subcontract to carry out your installation.
  • Trusted service providers who run our systems on our behalf — for example our email delivery, SMS, website hosting and customer-management providers.
  • The dealership or sales representative who referred you, so they can confirm your install is being handled.
  • Government or grant bodies, where you have asked us to help you apply for a rebate or grant.
  • Finance or broker partners, only where you ask us to explore finance options.
  • Anyone else where you have given consent, or where we are required or permitted by law.

Overseas storage

Some of the service providers we rely on (for example our email, SMS and website hosting providers) store data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies. Some are essential for the site to work. Others are optional and help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can accept or decline optional cookies using the banner shown when you first visit, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.

Marketing

From time to time we may contact you with information we think is relevant to your enquiry or installation. You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or contacting us using the details below, and we will stop.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure, and to destroy or de-identify it when we no longer need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
