Do I need three-phase power for an EV charger?
For most homes, no — around 85% of Sydney homes are single-phase, where a 7kW charger fills a full day's driving overnight. Three-phase is worth it mainly for 22kW charging, multiple EVs, or larger loads. We'll tell you straight if you don't need it.
How much does a three-phase upgrade cost?

Is it worth upgrading to three-phase just for EV charging?
Usually only if your car supports 22kW AC and you genuinely need the speed. For overnight home charging, single-phase 7kW is almost always enough — we'll give you an honest answer for your situation.
